Konductor and Web Standards

Konductor has been designed to work very well with websites that have been written according to W3C web standards.

The Konductor AIR Application uses the WebKit open source rendering engine, which is also used by Adobe Dreamweaver, as well as various web browsers, such as Apple Safari, and Google Chrome.

The WebKit engine within the Konductor AIR Application is very strict, however, when it comes to rendering invalid HTML, CSS and JavaScript. As such, you may encounter certain problems when uploading some of your templates. We have listed some of these below, along with propsed solutions.

Template renders in Dreamweaver, but the Konductor AIR Application shows a blank white screen

As mentioned above this may be due to 1 or more of three things: invalid HTML, invalid CSS and invalid JavaScript.

To correct issues associated with invalid HTML, try the following the following steps:

  1. Open the Template with the issue
  2. Go to the File menu, go to the Convert sub menu, and select an appropriate (X)HTML standard (XHTML 1.0 Strict is recommended)
